Coach Wilkie has privately coached quarterbacks for a # of years via QB1 Prep Academy, the position he played in college while setting four (4) Division II NCAA records at Glenville State University (West Virginia) in offense: (1) most yards gained - game, (2) most yards gained - season, (3) most passing yards - game and (4) most passing yards - season. Some of his private quarterback students have gone on to play Division I NCAA college football.
One of Coach Wilkie's former QB students is Indiana University QB and 2025 Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza, who played high school football for Christopher Columbus High School in Miami.
